How to set up Twitch, Kick and YouTube alerts in Discord
By Debarshi Parasar · Updated November 5, 2026
Your Discord members are your most loyal viewers, so tell them the moment you go live. NOVA BOT can post an alert in your server automatically, and ping a role if you want it to.
What NOVA can alert on
- YouTube videos
- YouTube Shorts
- YouTube live streams
- Twitch go-live
- Kick go-live
Step 1: Add NOVA to your server
Press Add to Discord, choose your server and authorize. You need the Manage Server permission to set up alerts.
Step 2: Create an alert channel and role
Make a text or announcement channel such as #going-live. If you want to ping people, create a role such as "Stream alerts" too, so only members who want pings get them.
Step 3: Add your alert
Type this command in your server:
/alert add
- type: pick YouTube Video, YouTube Short, YouTube Live, Twitch Live or Kick Live.
- name: your Twitch or Kick username, or your YouTube @handle or channel ID.
- channel: where NOVA should post.
- role: the role to ping. This one is optional.
Repeat this for each platform. Free servers can have 3 alerts, and more are available with NOVA Premium.
Step 4: Write your own message
Open Alert Messages in the NOVA dashboard to change what the alert says. You can use these variables:
{ping} {name} {title} {url} {platform} {image}
Manage your alerts
/alert listshows your alerts and their ID numbers./alert removedeletes an alert using its ID.
If something doesn't work
- "Could not find that YouTube channel": use your channel ID, which starts with UC, instead of your handle.
- No post appears: check that NOVA can view and send messages in the channel you chose.
